Trip #10 - New Zealand

New Zealand

I have a friend that is from New Zealand and he has been trying to get me to go down and visit him at some point. And what I can tell you is that New Zealand is NOT apart of Australia. He gets asked that question all the time. New Zealand is located South-West of Australia and is its own Country. In fact, New Zealand is the Youngest Country.

Legend has it that New Zealand was fished from the sea. Fact has it that New Zealand was the last land mass on earth to be discovered, making New Zealand the youngest country on earth. New Zealand two large island, the North Island and the South Island, and numerous other smaller islands.

I found some live still cameras in New Zealand. Here you can see what New Zealanders see everyday.

And here you can take control of the camera and explore the amazing geothermal area that is Te Puia, Rotorua.

New Zealand’s icon, the kiwi, is a biological oddity. Small, flightless, and largely nocturnal, this unusual bird holds all sorts of biological records. The kiwi, New Zealand’s most ancient bird, is a fitting national icon. It is a unique bird in a unique place.

Aren't they cute little bird?
